ELA--Vocabulary test tomorrow. Study! Reading calendar for the month of November is due tomorrow. Read ch 6 and 7 of the novel and prepare for an oral comprehension test on Wednesday.

The students have taken home their portfolios, scrapbooks, and reading response journals. I hope that you will have time before our interview this week to review this material together with your son/daughter. When you have looked over all of it, you can send the 3 pieces back to school, or bring it with you to the interview. Thank-you!

ELA--Vocabulary unit to be completed for tomorrow. The rough draft of the letter to Sodapop should be done for tomorrow.

SS-Study for your test for Wednesday.

Daily Update--Nov.20/09

ELA--Unit 4 vocabulary booklet is to be completed for Tuesday. You should be working on the rough draft of the letter to Sodapop. No due date has been set yet.

SS--You should be reviewing your notes and textbook in preparation of the test on Wednesday. Remember that your notes are to be handed in for test marks. We will be having a gallery walk on Monday so you have an opportunity to update and add to your notes.

Health--You should be thinking about and working on your Anti-smoking presentation.

8C--Your test is on Tuesday. Use your evenings to prepare.

Report cards were sent home today. Please remember to bring back the signed envelope to school on Monday. I also handed out letters on Thursday regarding Parents' Day appointment times. Many students handed them in on Friday. I was able to accomodate almost all first choices. I gave the papers back to the students so parents have a copy of the choices. Portfolios will be going home on Monday.

ELA--Keep up with the daily reading and try to surpass your November goal. A few people need to complete their scrapbook of writing which needs to be done by tomorrow at 3:40.

Math--Today we were working on the students' portfolios,so some students need to have a binder in school tomorrow.

We will be using the next few days to work on and complete our subject portfolios so PLEASE make certain you have a subject portfolio in class tomorrow.

8S Health--A few students have outstanding assignments because they have been away or have not completed them, so they need to be handed in tomorrow.

ELA--Daily reading. We need to have our scrapbooks completed early next week, so please have all your writing completed.

SS-The rest of the presentations will be completed on Tuesday.

ELA--We are working on our scrapbooks,so you need to make sure writing pieces are completed and ready to place in your scrapbooks.Some students are missing other ELA work which needs to be completed.

Math-4.3-page 42--#1,2,#3 a,b,c,and e, and #4b,c,and e for tomorrow.

Science--Test tomorrow.

ELA--Creative writing pieces should be completed for Thursday. Chapter 4 comprehension questions are due Thursday. Any students with outstanding asssignments need to get those completed and handed in. Some students need to review for their unit 3 vocabulary test which they will write on Thursday.

SS--Your project and diorama/model is due Thursday.

Science--Study for your test which will be written on Friday.

Those students who have not written their Foods test will do so on Thursday.

Some students still do not have their scrapbooks in. You need them in class.

ELA--All reading responses for term one are due Tuesday. Use this weekend to get these completed. Creative writing assignment should be worked on this weekend as it will be due in the following week. Have chapter 4 in the novel read for Monday.

Math--Some students are still struggling with % conversions so they should be reviewing this concept all the time.

Science--Study for your test which is next Friday.

SS-Continue researching your settlement. The project and model/diorama is due next Friday.

All scrapbooks should be in for Monday because we will be working with them on that day.

ELA--Work on your reading responses. Deadline is Nov.9. Vocabulary "Evidence of Learning" word illustration is due by the end of the week. Unit 3 vocabulary test will be either Thursday or Friday. We will confirm the date tomorrow. Novel Chapter 3 summary and reflections writing peice will be due by Thursday,with time tomorrow to work on it.

Math--Do corrections from worksheet 4.2 for tomorrow. Extra help tomorrow at noon.

Health--A few people did not hand in their assignment for the fitness skills today.
