Daily Update--Feb.27/08

Tomorrow we will be having our class party. Remeber to bring in your food and drink.
Students do have homework tonight.
Friday they will be writing their Shakespeare test.
In Math, they have a worksheet to do in preparation for a quiz on Friday.
In Science, they should be practicing their presentation of the Pulmonary circulation.
All MS readathon envelopes should be in tomorrow.

DAily Update--Feb.13/08

I have updated and revised some due dates for the students.

ELA--Book report date is the same--Friday!
Vocabulary test is the same--Friday!
--Word scene has been changed to next Tuesday, Feb.19.
--Shakespeare timeline has been changed to next Wednesday,FEb.20.

Math--Mini-project is due tomorrow.

Today we had a meeting about the Grade 7 and 8 ski trip which is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb.26. Please ask the students for the handout, and if you have any questions, please phone me. We are asking for a few parent volunteers.

ELA--A number of assignments are on the go right now--a) #4 book report due Friday.
b) Word scene for unit 6 vocabulary--due Friday.
c) Vocabulary test on Friday.
d) Shakespeare time-line due Tuesday, Feb.19.

Math--Mini project on PST and GST is due Thursday.


The class would appreciate it if some students could bring in a box of Kleenex each because we have already used up the boxes that were brought in at the beginning of the year. Some students did not bring in any at the beginning of the year. If anyone has a few catalogues that are outdated, we could also use those in the classroom. Thank-you!

ELA--Begin research on the life and times of Shakespeare. You will be creating a timeline of his life with the information that you gather.
--Work towards your next book report.
--Vocabulary unit 6 test will be written on Friday of next week.

Math--Begin working on your mini project "Furnishing my Dream Room". This will be due mid-week.

Science --Complete the booklets #13 and #14 for Monday.

SS--Quiz on Greek mythology is on Monday.

ELA--Students handed in their essays today. Thank-you very much.
--Begin work on your fourth bookreport/reading response. Do so by reading another book first, and then deciding on the book report format. This will be due Friday, Feb. 15.

Math--Journal entry#7 is due Wednesday.
--Review chart conversions--surprise quiz soon.

SS-- Map assignment due Wednesday.


Students signed a new reading contract today for the month of February. I hope we reached our class goal of 12000 pages for the month of January. I will be calculating the totals tonight.
