ELA--I returned the students' vocabulary tests today. They need to make the corrections, have you sign the test, and then return it to me tomorrow. Vocabulary unit 2 has been handed out today, and the page of synonyms and antonyms is due Friday. Bio poems are also due Friday. Tomorrow the Sept. calendars are due. First reading response should be done by next week.
Science--We had a very interesting grasshopper dissection today. The Science test is on Friday.
SS--Timelines were handed in today. The worksheet from yesterday will be corrected tomorrow.

ELA--The Evidence of Learning vocabulary word is due tomorrow. The biopoems are due Friday. Our September calendars are due Thursday morning. I hope students have been reading and will have reached their September reading goal. The first reading response should be finished and handed is by next MOnday just to stay on top of things and manage time.
Math--The students' first journal entry (one written by themselves) is due tomorrow. Many finished in class.
Science--If you can, bring in grasshoppers. Have your coiled Science lab book in class tomorrow. Grasshopper dissections will be happening on Wednesday.

I suggested that they review 10 words tonight, 10 tomorrow night and then review all again on Wednesday night. They need to know the definitions of the words, how to use them correctly in sentences, as well as synonyms and antonyms.

Welcome to a new school year!
It has been an exciting two days for me meeting my new class of students. I hope the students have also had two good days so far.
I have given the students this blogsite so they will now be able to check it every night for homework and/or other important information.
Parents also can have access to this site, so please feel free to check it daily.
I hope to see you at the Open House tonight.
