Daily Update--April 29/11

ELA--Have the mind map completed and ready to hand in on Monday along with your log entry for Act 1, Scene 1. The performances of the vocabulary skits will be on Tuesday. Our April calendar is due Monday.

Math--We are approaching the end of the unit so there will be a test at the end of next week.

SS--Get your Greece test signed. Continue researching your god/goddess. Presentations and the written report are due Wednesday.

Science--Review for your unit test on Tuesday.

8C--SS--Research your god/goddess. Presentations next week.

8V--SS--Get your Greece test signed. Continue researching your god/goddess. Presentations and the written report is due Thursday.

The badminton players who are going to Portage tomorrow need to be at the school by 7:45 with all of their gym clothes, racket, water bottle, lunches, and extra money.

ELA--Review the vocabulary words for the unit test on Friday. Mind map of the characters in Shakespeare is due either Friday or Monday. Gather props and costumes for your skit for unit 7 vocabulary words.

Math--Concept 9.2 worksheet #1 to 9 is due for tomorrow.

Daily Update--April 26/11

ELA--We have several assignments happening right now. The vocabulary test for unit 7 will be written on Friday. The students are in groups and they are composing skits using the vocabulary words. This will be their "Evidence of Learning" for this unit. We are hoping that the performances can occur on Friday, but it depends on time limits/work periods this week. The mind map for Shakespeare is due either this Friday or Monday, if students feel they need more time. Class time is being given to work on this assignment this week. Today we started the log entry for Act 1,Scene 1. No due date has been set for this assignment yet. A few students have not yet handed in their book project/IRP so they will be spending noon hours in the classroom until it is handed in.

Math--Textbook 9.1--pg. 337-341--#5,8,12,14,15 for tomorrow. Hand in signed and corrected unit test if you have not done so yet.

SS--Begin researching your chosen God or Goddess.

Science--Review every night for your unit test next week.

ELA--Work on your Shakespeare mind map of the characters and their relationships to each other. Review the vocabulary words from unit 7. Unit test will be on Friday. Tomorrow, we will set a presention date for your skits.

Daily Update--April 21/11

ELA--Some students did not hand in their book project so they need to have it in on Monday. Continue to read to reach your April reading goal which is due May 2. Start planning out your visual representation of the characters in the Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Math--No homework.

SS--We wrote our test today so there is no homework.

ELA--Please bring in your signed Vocabulary test asap. You need to hand in your first book project or IRP by the end of the week. Hand in your signed Shakespeare quiz asap.

Math--Your unit test on integers is tomorrow so review concepts that you are not sure of yet. Check the chapter review at the end of chapter 8 in the textbook for additional questions.

SS--Review all notes, the Web Quest, and the textbook (pgs.127-134) for Thursday's test. We have talked in class about "Studying by Doing". Tomorrow will be the last in-class review.

Daily Update--April 13/11

ELA--We are having a quiz on the life and times of Shakespeare tomorrow. Students need to review the notes, the handout and their timeline material. The timeline is due Monday. Book project or the first IRP is due next week. Math--Textbook 8.5--page 315-316 --#4 a and b, #6 a and b, #7 a and b, #9 equation and answer, and in Problem Format--#13, 15, and #17 due tomorrow. Test next week either Wed. or Thurs. SS--Notes on Life in Sparta due tomorrow. Start reviewing the Web Quest as a test will be written end of next week. Health--Test next Tuesday on the Bone and Joint Problems. 8T reached their March goal so we are going bowling tomorrow afternoon. Please remember the pink permission form and their $5.oo for tomorrow.

Daily Update--April 4/11

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a relaxing spring break! Now back to assignments and homework. ELA--Students updated their March calendars today and it looks like we have met our March class reading goal. I will be collecting the journals and double checking the totals. We have also signed our April calendar. Students should be reviewing their unit 6 vocabulary words as their test is on Wednesday. Math--Worksheet 8.1 is due for tomorrow. All questions have been assigned. SS--Map work page was assigned, with the knowledge that they will have 20 minutes in class to complete the last few questions. Health--Fact-Based Analysis page is due Wednesday. 8V--SS--Map quiz is on Thursday.
