Daily Update--March 26/10

Thank you to everyone who came to the Parent-Student interviews these last two days. It was beneficial to everyone to meet and discuss progress and third term goals.

Homework this next week will include completing the first book project for this term. It is due Tuesday, April 6. You can choose any style of project. You will need to complete a minimum of 4 before the end of the term.

Some students have not handed in their signed and corrected Math test. Have that in on Monday.

Students taking Clothing and Textiles will be writing a test on Monday, April 5.

Enjoy a relaxing Spring Break, and have a Happy Easter. See you on the 5th.

Daily Update--March 24/10

ELA--The good copy (or second draft) of the I am David diary entry is due tomorrow.

Math--Some students have not handed in their signed and corrected Math unit test. It should be in tomorrow.

I hope students have had time to go over the portfolios with their parents before tomorrow or Friday's interviews. The portfolios should be with the students when they come in for the interviews. They could also bring the portfolios back to school tomorrow.

Daily Update--March 23/10

ELA--Work towards completing your first book project for term three.

Math--Do the corrections on the unit test, and get it signed by your parents. Return it to school tomorrow.

SS--Have the "Timeline Hunt" crossword completed for tomorrow.

Health--Test on the location and spelling of the muscles, along with the specific activities is tomorrow.

Sewing test will be on Monday, April 5,2010.

Daily Update--March 22/10

ELA--Read, and work on your first book project for this next term. Due either by Thursday or Tuesday, April 6.

SS--The "Headings" page is due tomorow.

Science--Last evening to study for the test. Remember to bring your study log to class tomorrow. It must be handed in after the test is finished.

Health--Test on the Muscles, their location, and activities which strengthen them on Wednesday. Use your diagram to study.

Portfolios and scrapbooks were taken home today. Please make sure the students go over them with you before our appointment times at the end of the week. Some students need to bring in their appointment time sheets.

Daily Update--March 19/10

ELA--Vocabulary booklet should be completed for Monday. Work towards your first book project for third term.

Science--Continue studying for your test on Tuesday. Update your study log over the weekend, and have it signed.

Report cards are going home today. Please have your parents sign the envelope and return it to school. Also remember to bring in your letter indicating interview time for next week's Parents' Day.

Daily Update--March 18/10

ELA--Vocabulary unit 6 Antonym section is due tomorrow.

Math--Review. Your unit test is tomorrow. Some students have to hand in their foldable tomorrow.

Science--Review for your test. Update your study log tonight. Test is next Tuesday.

A parent letter was sent home tonight regarding Student-led conferences. Please fill it out, and have it returned to school as soon as you can.

ELA--Antonyms in Unit 6 vocab is due Friday. Rough draft of diary entry is due tomorrow.

Math-The rest of the review booklet is due tomorrow. Test on Friday.

Science--Study for your test. Update your study log and get it signed.

Daily Update--March 16/10

ELA--Complete the first page of the Vocabulary Unit 6 booklet by filling in the synonym on your own. Then complete the Synonyms section for tomorrow. Your srapbooks should be completed for tomorrow. For the novel, you will be writing diary entries as if you were David. The rough draft of a diary entry for chapter one is due Thursday.

Math--Unit test on fractions will be written on Friday. First review sheet # 1 to 7 is due tomorrow. Come in for extra help at noon.

Science --Your desugn project is due tomorrow. Study for your test. Update your study log and have it signed by your parents every night.

Daily Update--March 15/10

ELA--Students are to finish reading chapter 1 in I am David, and make a list of 8 to 10 of the major events that occurred in the chapter. This is due tomorrow. First book project of the third term will be due either March 25 or April 5.

Math--Unit test on Thursday or Friday. Begin review.

Science--Students started a study log today. They are to review every night from tonight until next Tuesday when they write the unit test. The study log will be handed in with their test, and it is worth marks. Design project is due Wednesday.

Daily Update--March 11/10

ELA--Read so you can start working on your book report. Get vocabulary test signed and returned to school.

Math--6.6--# 6 and 9 in p.f. and #7a for Monday. Test next week,probably Wednesday.

Science--3 point approach due Monday. Design project due Wednesday. Optics unit test on Tuesday, March 23.

Health--Bone and Joint Problem rewrite on Monday at noon.

Daily Update-March 10/10

ELA--Return signed vocabulary tests. We are trying to compile our scrapbooks ,so students need to decide on their chosen pieces. Keep reading so you can start on the next book project. The first one of this term should be handed in either by March 25 or by April 5.

Math--The new 6.6 handout # 1,2,3,4, and 5 for tomorrow.

Science--Your design project is due next Wednesday. The unit test will be written March 23.

Daily Update--March 9/10

ELA--All scrapbooks should be in class as we are putting together our portfolios. Students should be reading and starting their first book project for the third term.

Math--Page 234--#4 and 5 for tomorrow.

Science--Students should be working on their design process project.

Any students interested in playing after-school badminton should come to the first practice tomorrow at 3:45.

The students had a good time at the university today. Some seemed quite tired.

The homework list is the same from last Friday. There were students who did not hand in their SS projects today, so they need to remember to bring those in tomorrow.
Also bring in the signed vocabulary tests.

Daily Update--March 5/10

ELA--Get your vocabulary test signed and returned to school. All book reports were due today unless a student spoke to me earlier.

Math--The assignment from yesterday was from the booklet. Foldable is due Monday.

SS--Your Egypt project is due Monday. Please check the criteria to make certain all has been met.

Health--Test on the Bone and Joint Problems will be on Tuesday.

Remember that you are going to the U of M on Monday. You will need your gym clothes and a lunch. We leave at 9:00 and will be back by 3:30.

ELA--The article and questions as the pre-reading activity for the novel is due tomorrow. Get your vocabulary test signed and returned to school tomorrow. All book projects are due Friday.

Math--The last pages of the booklet questions #5,6,7,8, and #10 and #11 are due tomorrow. The foldable on 6.5 is due Monday as an assessment.

SS--Egypt project--Layered Curriculum--is due no later than Monday 9:00am.

8C SS--Egypt project --Layered Curriculum--is due no later than Monday at 9:00am.

Health--Review and study the chart on the Bone and Joint Problems for a test on the information next class--next Tuesday.

ELA--Book projects are due by Friday. The green pre-reading sheet for the novel is due tomorrow, and I will be collecting it in class.

SS--You should have the definitions completed, and your first choice from Layer B should be completed. Now work on the second choice in Layer B.

Health--The chart on Bone Injuries is due tomorrow and I will be checking on its completion.

8C SS--You have the same homework as 8T.

ELA--All book projects are due by the end of the week. We signed our March calendar today, and it looks like we did not meet our class goal, so we need to keep reading to meet the new class goal.

SS--Continue working on the layered project.

Health--Read the article and fill out the chart on Bone Injuries by next Health class.
