ELA--Work on your Evidence of Learning which is due Monday. All book projects must be in by next Friday.

SS--Definitions should be completed, reading strategy paper needs to be handed in on Monday, and everyone should be working on Layer B of the project.

ELA-Evidence of Learning is due by Monday. Book projects (at least 4) should be in by March 5.

Math--No homework as we just started a new concept.

SS--Make your choices for the Layered Curriculum assignment; and start defining the words for Thursday.

8C--Make your choices from the Layered Curriculum assignment; and define the chosen terms for Thursday.

Remember that we are going to IMAX tomorrow. Bring a lunch and/or money for lunch. We will be leaving at 9:20 and will be back by 3:30.
You also need to bring in your blue and white forms for the University of Manitoba trip asap.

ELA--Your rough draft of the 15 words for the "Evidence of Learning" should be done for tomorrow so we can edit them. I am waiting for book projects.

Math--Page 220-221--#4 a and b,#5 c and d,#7 a and b,#8 all, and in problem format #12,14, and 16 for tomorrow.

SS--Get tests signed, and complete the reading strategy that was handed out today.

Remember to bring in your forms and money for the IMAX trip and the University of Manitoba trip.

Math--Assessment is tomorrow;please review the concepts tonight. Work on page 308 #1 a and b,#3 a and b,#4 a and b, and #12 and 13 for tomorrow. You have many worksheets from which to find sample questions.

ELA--Vocabulary booklet is to be completed by Thursday. Students should already be working on their third book project.

Math--Review #2--page 15 on the worksheet--#6,7,and 19; and work on page 25(second booklet)#5 a and b,#10 c and d. All due for tomorrow. There will be Math homework every night up to the assessment next Wednesday. Extra help is offered every noon hour until next Wednesday. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

The only homework the students have this weekend is to work on their book projects. Two projects must be completed and handed in by Tuesday.

An envelope was sent home in regards to immunization. Please return to the office as soon as possible.

We had our reading party today. Now to read towards our February goal.

Daily Update--Feb. 4/10

We completed the ELA Assessment today. Information about the Math Assessment will be handed out tomorrow.

Students should take the opportunity right now when there has not been much homework assigned and work on their second book project which is now due.

We have a SS test tomorrow on the Eygptian vocabulary that was presented in class this week.

Tomorrow we will have our class party for reaching our class December reading goal. Remember to bring the items that you offered to bring.

Daily Update--Feb.2/10

Today the students wrote Part A of the ELA assessment.Tomorrow they will write the short story section, and they will continue with the essay writing.

ELA--Students should be working on their second book project. Review the grammar/editting practice sheets.

Math--We will have a short assessment on multiplying and dividing of fractions tomorrow. We were to have it today,but we ran out of time.

SS--Review the vocabulary from the presentations as we will be writing a test on those words on Friday.

Daily Update--Feb.1/10

Tomorrow the students will be writing the first part of their ELA assessment in the morning. They need to remember to bring their pencil case with pens and pencils, an eraser, and a dictionary. They also need their reading book. Tomorrow will be the expository writing section (essay writing) and reading the two short stories.

ELA--The students have a grammar worksheet to complete for tomorrow. It involves editting.

Math--I will be giving the students a short Math test on the concepts we have studied in fractions. It will consist of about 12 questions, similar to their Math homework over the weekend.

SS--Start reviewing the Egypt words that were presented in class. The vocabulary test on these words will be on Friday. Bring in your signed SS test.

8C--Vocabulary test on the Egypt words which were presented in class is on Thursday.

8S--Test on the location of the bones will be next MOnday.
