DAily Update--Jan. 31/08

ELA--The essay is due MOnday.
--The students who asked for Monday as the due date for their book report--do not forget!
--January reading calendar is due Monday so read more this weekend!

Math--Continue to review your conversion chart.

SS--Anyone who did not complete their Greek myth illustration have until Monday to do so.

Daily Update--Jan.29/08

ELA--Students should have finished their purple sheets and now are working on their first rough draft of their essay which is due Mondday.
--The book report is due Thursday. If anyone cannot reach that goal they must speak to me individually.

Math--Page 178-179---# 9 a to d, #11 a to d,#12 g to j, #16 in problem format, and # 19. Show all of your work.

SS--The illustration/poster of the myth is due Thursday.

Science--I have not received all signed tests yet.

Daily Update--Jan.28/08

ELA--Work on your book report which is due Friday/Monday.
--Your jot notes for the persuasive essay should be completed. Now you are working on the purple sheets which should help you to organize your notes and thoughts. I need to edit and conference with all of you, so your first rough draft should be completed soon. The essay is officiallly due Monday, Feb.4.

Math--Study the conversion chart because you never know when you will be getting a surprise quiz on this topic.

Science--Get your test corrections done and the test signed and returned tomorrow.

SS--Work on your Greek mythology assignment which is due the end of the week.

ELA--Tomorrow students should be able to tell me of their essay topic. They need to be researching the topic and recording info in the form of jot notes. Essay due Feb.4/08.
--Read "The Catch" and complete the comprehension questions by Monday.
--Hand in signed vocabulary tests.
--Work on your book report which is due Feb.1.

Math--Continue to review the conversion chart.

SS--Begin research on your chosen Greek myth. Work on the blueprint of your illustration.

ELA--Students received their marked vocabulary tests and need to get them signed and returned to class tomorrow.
--Work on your essay--research your topic and make jot notes.
--Read and begin work on your book report.

MAth--Complete the next chart and study the chart. There will be a short quiz on the conversions tomorrow.

SS--Complete the worksheet on Illustrations for tomorrow.

ELA--Keep reading every night. I would like to know your book report format choice asap (tomorrow).
--We discussed persuasive essay writing today. Students need to decide on a topic and begin research. The essay will be due by Feb. 4.

Math--The conversion chart is due tomorrow.

We wrote our Science test today and handed in the SS crosswords and word stories.

Daily Update--Jan.15/08

ELA--Students should be reading every night because the third reading response (which is a book report) will be due in two to three weeks.
--Prepare for the vocabulary test for Friday.

Science--Worksheet on diffusion is due tomorrow.
--We will be writing a short quiz on Diffusion and Osmosis next week.

SS- Crossword puzzle is due tomorrow.

We will have a presentation by the MS Society tomorrow morning. The students will then be registering for the annual Read-a-thon. We will also have our Spelling Bee starting at 10:10 tomorrow, with the winner advancing to Winnipeg in March.

Happy Ukrainian New Year!

ELA--Students are working on their third reading response/book report now.
--Vocabulary test this Friday.

Math- The unit test on Fractions will be written tomorrow. I gave the students an assignment as review for the test. Please go over that review tonight.

Daily Update--Jan.11/08

ELA--The students have handed some WONDERFUL mobiles today. EXCELLENT JOB!
--Their second reading response is due Monday.
--Vocabulary unit 5 test will be written near the end of next week.

Math--Unit test on fractions will be written on Tuesday so the review is on pages 106-108--# 12,16,20,21,34 a,b,c, and ##39 a to e for Monday.

Science--Lab report is due Monday.

ELA--Mobile due Friday.
--Vocabulary--the rest of the booklet is due Friday.
--READING RESPONSE #2 IS DUE BY MONDAY!!

Math--Problem worksheet # 2,3,and 4-due tomorrow. We will then start review for the unit test which will be written next week, probably Wed. or Thurs.

Daily Update--Jan.7/08

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful,safe,and happy holiday season and Christmas. Now to get back to work!

ELA--Students signed a new reading contract today and some did mention that they did not read much during the month of December,so I hope many will get back into the routine of reading every night for at least 15 minutes.
--Students should be working on their novel mobile which is due this Friday.
--Vocabulary--Unit 5-synonyms and antonyms is due tomorrow.
--The next reading response is due soon. Two should already be handed in.

Math--Division worksheet #9, 13, and # 14(in problem format) is due tomorrow.
